Classes are held on a Thursday evening every second month from 6pm – 8.30pm. Please note that a support person is not required for this class.
ANTENATAL CLASS (around 30 weeks pregnant)
- When to come to hospital
- Planning for birth
- Midwife’s role
- Your hospital stay
- Tour of the maternity ward
Classes are held regularly with several times available, including a one day or two day weekend class. Support person is encouraged.
ACTIVE BIRTH CLASS (around 35 weeks pregnant for intended vaginal births)
- Transition from pregnancy to labour
- Support partners role
- Optimal fetal positioning
- Combining movement in labour
- Using water in labour
- Breathing techniques
- Use of fit-balls
- Using other sensations (music /mantras)
Classes are held on Monday and Thursday evenings every month from 6pm – 8pm.
Support person encouraged.
