Doctor Details

Dr Walker graduated in medicine from the University of Queensland 1978. His early postgraduate years were spent at Royal Brisbane Hospital, where he went on to undertake basic physician training. He completed his basic physician training at Repatriation Hospital Greenslopes and subsequently commenced advanced training in gastroenterology at that institution.

He returned to Royal Brisbane Hospital as an advanced trainee, where he completed his gastroenterology training. Dr Walker commenced a private gastroenterology practice on the Sunshine Coast in 1988. For many years he was a visiting gastroenterologist at Nambour General Hospital and introduced ERCP to that institution. Dr Walker also instituted the viral hepatitis clinic at Nambour Hospital. Dr Walker's main interests are diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease and chronic liver disease.
