Dr Kit Wong is a Director of the Queensland Cardiovascular Group and is the Director in charge of the Sunshine Coast branch. He is also Director of Cardiology at the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital. Dr Wong holds particular clinical interests and expertise in echocardiography, exercise stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, and coronary angiography.
He graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in the UK in 1985, and obtained his Membership to Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) following post graduate training in 1989. Dr Wong commenced cardiology training within the teaching hospitals in Birmingham. In 1992 he moved to Australia to undertake cardiovascular genetics research at the University of Queensland, within the Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane. He was successful in obtaining a National Health and Medical Research Council (NH & MRC) post graduate scholarship. He completed his cardiology training and was awarded his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1996.
With his family, Dr Wong moved to the Sunshine Coast in 1997 to practice cardiology as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Nambour General Hospital and in private practice at the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital. Being the first cardiologist on the Sunshine Coast, he was instrumental in establishing cardiac services to the area, including the introduction of coronary angiography (2007), coronary care and intensive care facilities, and coronary percutaneous intervention (2007) at the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital.

Echocardiography, exercise stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, and coronary angiography.
