Dr Michelle Proud MBBS FRANZCOG MRMed

Dr Michelle Proud is a gynaecologist and fertility specialist who provides excellence in patient-centred care. With her calm and empathetic nature she takes time to understand her patients individual needs, providing a personalised, inclusive and holistic approach. Through education and empowering her patients, she ensures her patients have a better understanding of their bodies and are central to all decision making around their care.
Michelle grew up in North Queensland and studied medicine at James Cook University. As a junior doctor she was awarded Townsville Hospital’s prestigious ‘Intern of the Year’. Moving to SE Queensland she completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology under the tutelage of some of QLD’s best laparoscopic and gynaecological surgeons. With this guidance she developed a special interest in fertility and expertise in advanced minimally invasive surgery. Michelle has joined the team at Fertility Solutions Sunshine Coast (MVF Sunshine Coast) where she will be offering all aspects of fertility care including surgical sperm collections.
Michelle obtained an appointment at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) as a Staff Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. At SCUH as the lead educator for Registrar and GP education, she regularly performs and teaches complex surgery emphasising the importance of high-level surgical skill and achieving the best patient outcomes.
Michelle has undergone additional training in fertility with Sunshine Coast Fertility Solutions and Monash IVF. She was awarded Excellence in a Masters of Reproductive medicine and Endocrinology. She is a member of Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society, the Australian Pelvic Pain Foundation, as well as the Australian and New Zealand Vulvovaginal society.
