Dr Peta Higgs

Dr Peta Higgs is a sub-specialist urogynaecologist who trained in Australia and the United Kingdom. After obtaining her general obstetric and gynaecology fellowship under the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) in Queensland, she completed further training in the sub-speciality field of urogynaecology, undertaking a year in Manchester, England and three years in Melbourne. She was awarded the Certificate of Urogynaecology in 2006.
Her interests include female urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse and, in particular, laparoscopic pelvic floor repair. She is involved in research projects in new technologies to treat vaginal prolapse and is the Chair of the Urogynaecology Subcommittee for the RANZCOG.
Dr Higgs has been in private practice at Buderim Private Hospital since 2007 and is also a Visiting Medical Officer at Sunshine Coast University Hospital for public patients. She lives on the Sunshine Coast with her family.
