Dr Pretissha Harrichund is a South African trained Specialist Consultant with dual recognition as a Physician and Endocrinologist.
She has a Masters degree in Medicine and has published the results of a study she conducted on renal transplant patients in the local Endocrine journal “JEMDSA” in 2008.
Dr Harrichund has worked in Bundaberg Public Hospital but left in 2013 to set up private practice and Directorship of the local Medical School – Rural Clinical School of Bundaberg.
In 2014 she has to make a difficult decision to pursue academia or focus on her clinical work and while she loved teaching, she felt a great responsibility to her patients and so left the school to focus solely on her private practice.
Her knowledge of the Public, Medical Education and Private Hospital systems enabled Dr Harrichund to identify gaps in healthcare delivery which lead her to create Precision Healthcare Centre.
She is a strong supporter of Precision Medicine and aims close the gap by employing a holistic model of care and tailoring treatments to the individual.
