Dr Shah grew up in the UK and completed medical school at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. She came to Australia in 2005 and has worked at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Royal Women’s Hospital and a number of regional hospitals including Nambour and Caboolture, gaining experience in all aspects of paediatric and neonatal medicine.

Dr Shah enjoys working with families to achieve the best outcome for their children. She is compassionate and understanding and can provide practical and helpful strategies to help families achieve their goals. She is happy to consult on all aspects of paediatrics but her areas of interests include neonatal care including infant and feeding issues, respiratory diseases, endocrine and puberty issues as well as developmental and learning difficulties. She is happy to help parents advocate for their children and can work closely with GPs, allied health staff and schools. She can assist with letters of support for NDIS funding.

Dr Shah sees newborns at Buderim Private Hospital where she provides care to healthy term babies and cares for babies requiring care in the special care nursery. She consults out of the rooms at Sunshine Coast Paediatrics and sees all children from newborns to older high school students.

Dr Shah is a member of the Paediatric Service Committee and the Obstetric and Neonatal Services Committee at Buderim Private Hospital. She has participated in updating of Clinical Guidelines for Queensland Health. She is accredited in Advanced Neonatal Life Support and teaches the Neonatal Resuscitation Program to Nursing, Midwifery and Medical Staff. When not working, Dr Shah enjoys baking and crafts and is kept busy looking after her two school age children. She is well aware of the challenges of busy family lives.
