Dr Sorab Shavaksha MBChB, FRACP, FRCPA
Dr Shavaksha graduated from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom in 2002 and underwent internal medicine training, including haematology, in several hospitals in West Yorkshire before emigrating to Queensland in 2006 to pursue his specialist training in Brisbane.
He completed his haematology training in 2012 having worked at both the Princess Alexandra and Royal Brisbane Hospitals, and is dual trained as both a clinical haematologist and haematopathologist.
Dr Shavaksha moved to the Sunshine Coast with his wife in 2013 and commenced full-time private practice offering consultation and treatment for all haematological disorders including leukaemias, lymphomas, myelodysplasia, myeloproliferative disorders and non-malignant blood disorders.
He maintains his professional qualification in pathology and performs weekly bone marrow examinations in conjunction with QML Pathology.
Following on from his Associate Lecturer position at the University of Queensland, he maintains his interest in continuing medical education and regularly presents at general practitioner training sessions.
When not working, Dr Shavaksha can be found either out on his road bike or spending time with his family at the beach.
