Dr Timothy Nathan

Dr Tim Nathan is an experienced and accomplished urological surgeon who has been working on the Sunshine Coast since 2006. He graduated from the University of Edinburg Medical School and undertook specialist training in all aspects of adult urology at London teaching hospitals, including the world-renowned St Peter’s Hospital (The Institute of Urology).
Dr Nathan was fellowship trained in laparoscopic urological surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, under Professor David Nicol. He also undertook fellowship training in laparoscopic and robotic radical prostatectomy with Professor Jens-Uwe Stolzenburg at the University Hospital Leipzig, Germany.
Dr Nathan’s main area of clinical expertise is the diagnosis and management of urological cancers. He has performed over 500 complex major procedures to remove cancers of the prostate, bladder and kidney. He is now able to offer suitable patients robotic surgery at The Wesley Hospital, with the advantage of the local expert peri-operative care to ensure safety and continuity.
His other areas of interest include general urology, laser surgery for prostate and stone disease, vasectomy reversal, and insertion of prosthetics to treat incontinence and erectile dysfunction.
Dr Nathan is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at The University of Queensland. He has published scientific papers on laser treatment for benign and malignant prostatic disease. He aims to provide high quality and modern urological care close to the patients’ home.
