Doctor Details

Dr Tony Gianduzzo was educated in Queensland and obtained his medical degree in Brisbane in 1983. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand. He completed his Urological training in Queensland, and has been resident on the Sunshine Coast since 1993.

Dr Gianduzzo’s particular interests are in the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer, laser prostate surgery, and treating urinary stones. He has been heavily involved in the introduction of robotic prostatic biopsy to the hospital, and in developing and validating high quality multi-parametric MRI prostate diagnostic services on the Sunshine Coast to enable more reliable identification and characterisation of significant early prostate cancer. He introduced Thulium laser prostatic surgery to Queensland in 2010 and is highly experienced in various laser prostatic and renal surgical techniques.

He continues to be involved in the development of high quality local facilities for the Sunshine Coast, and having acted in board and other key leadership roles in the development of The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital. He was Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee for 15 years and continues on as a member, and also continues on as a founding member of the Quality and Safety Committee.
