Meet Tanya – Education Team Leader

“I get out of bed and come to work happily each morning for the team, the challenging work, the friends and the satisfaction of helping others. I feel so lucky to work here.”

Tanya started working at Buderim Private Hospital in 2012 and is looking forward to celebrating her 10th work anniversary next year.

1. How would you describe your role and what’s the best part?

I work closely with the Education Team to help create all education resources for our hospital team. I look after things including the Education Portal site and also answer all staff questions related to e-learning.

I love everything I do. Working so closely with our members of the Education Team is the best part of my role. I think they are the best of the best – I find their dedication, attitude towards leading through learning, and clinical knowledge very inspiring.

2. What does a typical day at the hospital look like for you?

No day is typical but generally I can say my day is very busy, diverse and a lot of fun.

3. What’s one thing about your role that surprises people?

That there is a dedicated team of educators permanently in place to ensure staff from across the hospital are able to maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills.

4. What did the year 2020 teach you?

That life as I know it can change very quickly. An appreciation of how lucky I am and I should never take hugs from my family for granted.

5. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Painting animals, going for walks along Moffat Beach and spending time with my three grandsons.
