Buderim Private Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Clark as its new General Manager.
Ms Clark is an experienced health executive who brings a wealth of knowledge and executive leadership experience in both
hospital operations and clinical streams from her work in major healthcare facilities across both the private and public hospital sectors.
Announcing Ms Clark’s appointment, UnitingCare Group Executive for Hospitals Michael Krieg said, “Karen is an exceptional executive whose strong clinical and leadership experience will lead the Buderim Private Hospital into its next phase of growth and development and continue our long history of delivering quality and compassionate care to the people of the Sunshine Coast.”
Ms Clark’s most recent role was Chief Executive Officer/Chief Nursing Officer with St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Melbourne where she was responsible for driving high clinical standards; the introduction and implementation of innovative technology; and building additional theatres.
Earlier in her career Ms Clark held a number of roles including General Manager/Director of Nursing at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Director of Nursing and Operations at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, and Hospital Manager/Director of Nursing and Midwifery at Mercy Hospital for Women.
Reflecting on her appointment Ms Clark said, “I am honoured and excited to have been selected to lead this wonderful hospital and build on the solid foundations already in place.”

Born and educated in Scotland, Ms Clark has spent the last 30 years living and working in Australia and has recently re-located to the Sunshine Coast with her family.
Ms Clark’s appointment is effective immediately.
