• What to expect at the Pre-Admission Clinic

  The Pre-Admission Clinic aims to streamline the admission process and set your mind at ease.

  Depending on your procedure, age and medical history, your surgeon may require a nursing assessment and investigations (such as ECG, blood tests or X-rays) at our Pre-Admission Clinic prior to your surgery.

  During this appointment, our nurses will undertake a comprehensive assessment of your healthcare needs. You will have the opportunity to discuss your health, medication history and raise any concerns or questions you may have about your admission or discharge. This information will then be sent to your anaesthetist directly.

  We can also assist you to complete necessary documentation, including Private Health Fund checks, in an effort to optimise your patient experience and outcomes.

  For patients who live outside of the Sunshine Coast, or those who may have difficulty attending the clinic, we can arrange a phone interview and have the tests performed closer to home.

• What to bring to the Pre-Admission Clinic

  
  

  • Please ensure you bring ALL medications in original packaging to the appointment and/or a recent GP list stating your current medications.
  • If you use a CPAP machine, please bring that with you also.

  
  

• Book your admission

  If you haven’t already done so, complete your nursing health assessment and booking online through our Hospital Admission Booking System. A family member can assist you with this, or we are happy to assist when you come to your appointment.

• Pay your account

  You can pay your account for your hospital stay and procedure online through our payment portal. If you need assistance using the portal, please let us know when you come to your appointment.

• Prepare for your stay

  Your safety and wellbeing are our top priority. Visit our preparing for your stay page and download our patient information booklet to learn more about what to expect and what you need to do.

• Parking and directions

  The Pre-Admission Clinic is located on the Buderim Private Hospital campus, directly opposite the entrance to iMed Radiology, in Suite 1 of the Medical Centre at the back of the hospital. We are easily accessible and there is plenty of free parking.

  Driving directions: As you arrive at the hospital grounds, go past the two-storey carpark, then take the road left up the hill. Follow the white line all the way to the top until you see the X-ray and radiology sign. Park your vehicle on the left.
