Buderim Private Hospital recently held its annual Hospital Blessing service for 2023 to bless and pray for the hospital, its teams, staff, volunteers, auxiliary members, supporters, and the services it provides.

The special ceremony featured a ‘Tree of Hope’ where everyone in attendance was invited to write their own small blessing and place it on the tree in a small act of solidarity.

Shane Mitchell, General Manager, said the service was an opportunity for the hospital community to come together to reflect on the year ahead and consider how they can contribute hope and healing to those entrusted to its care.

Theo Massleos said: “May this hospital be a place of hope, healing and wholeness for all and for this to be done through those who contribute here in this place.”

“And for those scenarios at times that may not change or even become more difficult or have outcomes unwanted, may those involved find great comfort, care and deep compassion through all whom tend to them,” he said.

“May we continue the expression of the gift of medicine in this place that gives witness and testimony of God’s love towards us, to others and this world.”

As part of UnitingCare, the Buderim Private Hospital is owned by the Uniting Church and is the only not-for-profit provider of private hospital services on the Sunshine Coast.
