This Award acknowledges the significant commitment of an individual to Nursing/Midwifery leadership through a research project, innovative program, introduction of change management, or a significant contribution to nursing and midwifery leadership.

“My dedication to developing and supporting future nursing and midwifery leaders and being a positive role model for our professions is my passion and motivation that comes from those who have done this for me including my mentor and beautiful friend Colleen Rasmussen.”

In her role at Buderim Private Hospital, Mel oversees multiple units, including main theatres, recovery, endoscopy and more. With over 200 staff reporting to her, she's in the driver's seat to influence positive change and support a community of nurses.
