today I had the opportunity to go into the malaria lab at the hospital, and see malaria slides for the first time. Zerelda, the technician had diagnosed 3 cases in the last 3 days. She said this was significantly less than 2 years ago since a new drug treatment was introduced

Six years ago there were only a handful of registered nurses (RN) in the hospital. Now there is an RN on every shift. Nurses who were graduating students three years ago, are in charge of the general ward, the paediatric ward and reproductive health. We have really helped them to increase the nursing skills in the hospital.
