Dr Alice Livings BSc(Hons), MBBS(Hons), FRACP, FRCPA
Dr Alice Livings is a Clinical and Laboratory Haematologist who commenced Private Practice in Clinical Haematology on the Sunshine Coast in 2021.
Dr Livings grew up in Brisbane and completed a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Chemistry at the University of Queensland, before making the move to Sydney. There she completed her medical degree with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney. After medical school, she worked in several hospitals around the greater Sydney area before undertaking her advanced training in Haematology at Royal North Shore and Liverpool Hospitals, obtaining Fellowship of both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia. Following completion of her training, she was the Pitney Fellow at St George Hospital.
Dr Livings is interested in a wide range of topics in Haematology, including:
• Malignant conditions such as lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
• Non-malignant conditions such as clotting and bleeding disorders and platelet disorders.
• Haematological conditions affecting pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Dr Livings believes that clear communication is crucial to providing the best care to patients and their families and strives to provide information about conditions and treatments in a way that is accessible and meaningful to patients and relevant to their particular circumstances. She is committed to ensuring she remains up to date with the latest advancements in the field and is a member of several professional societies, including the Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand, the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, the International Society for Laboratory Haematology and the American Society of Hematology.
When not working, Dr Livings' interests include cycling, reading, photography and bushwalking.
