Dr Bernard Tamba-Lebbie
Dr Tamba-Lebbie recently celebrated 20 years since his qualification from the University of Otago. His career started at the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he subsequently started his orthopaedic training and completed that in Queensland. He then voluntarily chose to do sub specialisation in knee, hips and shoulders. This includes treating patients without surgery and treating them with surgery using open techniques or arthroscopic (keyhole) techniques.
The evolving world dictates that the doctor must evolve and take on the technology that improves the patient care. To understand what the patient needs, Dr Tamba-Lebbie believes in listening to the patient, examining the patient and explaining his findings to the patient and suggestions as to how these findings can be ameliorated through initially non-operative means. Surgery can be useful in a lot of conditions that Dr Tamba-Lebbie sees but most patients do not end up having surgery if they undertakes simple preventative measures.
Dr Tamba-Lebbie is well and truly grounded on the Sunshine Coast with the his two girls attending local schools. He is involved with local organisations and travels overseas and locally to update his education. He also regularly travels to do a charity work overseas.
Dr Tamba-Lebbie's main interest is in joint replacement and keyhole surgery. He can be contacted through his rooms on 5452 5844. He looks forward to continuing to be part of the community and maintaining a healthy community.
