Dr Gerard Bourke MBBS, FRACS (Orth)
Dr Bourke has more than 20 years’ experience in foot and ankle surgery and is capable of treating all conditions in foot and ankle surgery including:
- Deformity correction such as bunions and claw toes
- Treatment of arthritis and other degenerative diseases
- Treatment of foot disorders in diabetics and other neurological conditions such as spina bifida and Charcot Marie Tooth
- Reconstruction of ligaments in both ankle and knee
- Joint replacement of great toe
Dr Bourke specialises in foot, ankle and knee disorders and has previously worked full-time in sports medicine, however treat patients of all types. Dr Bourke has an interest in biomechanics, especially gait analysis in both athletes and non-athletes. He also has vast experience in the operative and non-operative treatment of diabetics and neuropathic foot ulcers, as well arthritic disorders and deformity such as claw toes and bunions, acute trauma of the lower leg including calcaneal and Pilon fractures, and all forms of internal fixation as well as external fixation devices.
Dr Bourke own a weight bearing CT scanner and performs on-the-spot scans which provide immediate results without the need for another appointment.
