Dr Khaldoon (Khal) Alsaee practices in both Psychiatry and Pain Medicine in both outpatient and inpatient settings at Buderim Private Hospital's Cooinda Mental Health Service.
Dr Khaldoon completed his medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland and moved shortly after to Australia to complete training in Psychiatry through the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He sub-specialises in addiction psychiatry. Dr Khaldoon has also completed training in pain medicine through the Faculty of Pain Medicine - Australia & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
From a psychiatric perspective, Dr Khaldoon is happy to accept referrals pertaining to mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders and any cases that involve multiple medical co-morbidities; especially chronic pain. He is also able to admit patients for substance detoxification (alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines etc) and rationalisation of medication regimes.
From a pain medicine perspective, Dr Khaldoon can accept any referral pertaining to chronic cancer and non-cancer pain.
