Doctor Details

Dr Marcel Knesl is a consultant radiation oncologist at ROC Maroochydore as well as having a consultant radiation oncologist appointment at the newly opened Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

After completing an undergraduate medical degree (MBChB) at Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa, Dr Knesl moved to Auckland, New Zealand where he trained in radiation oncology at Auckland Hospital. During this time Dr Knesl became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.

Dr Knesl began practicing radiation oncology on the Sunshine Coast in 2006. Marcel went on to complete the Graduate Diploma of Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Recent appointments include Icon’s Director of Radiation Oncology and the academic appointment of Senior Lecturer Griffith University lecturing medical students at the newly opened Griffith Medical School, Sunshine Coast.

Dr Knesl’s special interests include breast, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and lymphoma malignancies.
