Dr Neil Foden FRCS ORL-HNS (UK) FRACS OHNS (AUST)
Dr Neil Foden was born, raised and educated in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
He holds dual fellowships from the UK (FRCS ORL-HNS) and Australia (FRACS OHNS) and practices all aspects of adult and paediatric ear nose and throat (ENT) surgery with a special interest in benign and malignant head and neck surgery, including thyroid surgery.
Dr Foden underwent higher surgical training in ENT in London, followed by fellowships in London and Monash Health, Melbourne after being awarded a number of scholarships from the Royal College of Surgeons. He was able to develop advanced skills in head and neck cancer surgery and also gain further experience in all aspects of general ENT surgery.
He has worked for a period of time in a remote part of Malawi, providing medical care for an Irish based charity. In addition to his medical background, he also has a law degree.
Dr Foden is actively involved in teaching and medical research, with a number of peer reviewed publications. He is the co-chair of the Head and Neck cancer multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meeting at Sunshine Coast University Hospital where he also works as a consultant. He has a role as supervisor for the interns and residents.
Neil and his wife have settled well on the Sunshine Coast and enjoy taking advantage of the outdoors. His other passions include Liverpool Football Club, Geelong Cats and travel.
