Dr Roderick McMurray is a Specialist General Surgeon with qualifications in Breast and Endocrine Surgery. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 2009.

Relocating to Queensland in 2011, Dr McMurray worked on the Gold Coast for several years before moving to Perth for surgical training. Formal qualifications in General Surgery were completed in Western Australia, and he attained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2021.

Dr McMurray is highly specialised in Breast Surgery and was formally trained through the BreastSurgANZ accredited Fellowship program. He spent two years appointed to renowned Breast Units at the Mater Hospital, South Brisbane and the Royal Adelaide Hospital in South Australia, acquiring significant skill and experience in Breast and Endocrine Surgery.

Fundamental to his practice is offering a caring and patient-centred consultation. He includes a range of oncoplastic and reconstructive techniques to optimise the aesthetic outcomes of breast cancer surgery.

Dr McMurray is committed to teaching and holds the title of Lecturer at the University of Queensland.

• Breast Surgery: Benign and malignant breast disease; oncoplastic surgery and lipofilling; implant-based breast reconstruction; risk assessment for women with a high-risk family history; breast reduction surgery for macromastia; breast implant integrity assessment and explantation surgery.
• Endocrine Surgery: Thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal pathology.
• General Surgery: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, including bile duct exploration; laparoscopic and open hernia repair; emergency surgical procedures.
