Dr Spencer Kajevu MBChB, FRACP
Dr Spencer Kajevu graduated from the University of Zimbabwe’s School of Medicine in 2002 and over the following three years he gained invaluable medical experience in the challenging environment of the sub-Saharan region, before migrating to Australia in 2005 to pursue his paediatric training. His paediatric gastroenterologist training was undertaken in Brisbane at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Mater Children’s Hospital and the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.
He currently holds a part-time appointment at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Birtinya as a specialist paediatrician, and is also an associate lecturer with the University of Queensland.
He has experience in the management of children with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions including complex gut disorders requiring feeding devices or parenteral nutrition, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic liver disease requiring transplantation, coeliac disease and eosinophilic oesophagitis. He is happy to receive referrals of children with a variety of gastrointestinal complaints requiring specialist involvement and will perform paediatric endoscopy and colonoscopy at The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital in Buderim.
