• Diagnostic cardiology procedures

  From stress tests to coronary angiograms, our cardiologists may recommend a range of diagnostic tests in rooms or on site at the hospital campus. These procedures are minimally invasive and use the latest technology and imaging techniques to measure cardiovascular functions, from blood pressure to blood flow within different heart chambers. They include:

  • Cardiac MRI scans.
  • Echocardiograms.
  • Transoesophageal echocardiograms (TOE).
  • Stress tests.
  • Coronary angiograms / right and left heart studies, including intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), and specialty diagnostic intravascular imaging, such as FFR and DFR.

  
  
  

• Electrophysiology Studies

  Electrophysiology Studies are designed to detect problems with the heart’s electrical structure and function, which result in abnormal heart rhythms. Some of the studies available via Buderim Private Hospital include:

  • Atrioventricular (AV) node ablation.
  • Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) stimulation.
  • Cryoablation / Pulmonary Vein Isolation.
  • Redo Atrial Fibrillation (AF) ablation / Radiofrequency (RF) ablation.
  • Atrial Flutter ablation.
  • Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) ablation.
  • Electrophysiology (EP) study.

• Interventional cardiology procedures

  Interventional cardiology involves cardiac catheterisation – the insertion of a small tube through an artery up to the heart to repair valves, insert stents and more. It is used to treat heart conditions such as congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, and vascular disease. Interventional procedures at Buderim Private Hospital include:

  • Coronary angioplasty – ballooning and stenting, including Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI).
  • Device insertion – Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD); Permanent Pacemaker (PPM); and Biventricular ICD.

  
  
  

• Our facilities

  • We have two dedicated Cardiovascular Theatres and a Critical Care service which includes Intensive Care.
  • Our services are supported by highly qualified specialist cardiologists and electrophysiologists, an intensivist service, a 24-hour Resident Medical Officer service and specially trained nursing staff.
  • We have all the necessary diagnostic imaging technology onsite, including ultrasound, X-rays, CT scans and magnetic resonance imagery (MRI).
