Learn more about Lesley with our ‘Fast Five’ questions:

1. How would you describe your role and what’s the best part?

My role is varied and no day is ever the same. I work in multiple departments including wards, day hospital, theatre, scheduling and main reception. Each area has its own demands and procedures and I need to be adaptable to roll with the changes that can occur. I feel my job gives me a thorough understanding of how each department interacts with the running of the hospital as a whole. I enjoy following a patient’s journey from beginning to end and the camaraderie I have with staff at all levels.

2. What does a typical day at the hospital look like for you?

There is no such thing as a typical day! It is really dependant on where I am working but each area can throw different challenges and is always busy.

3. What’s one thing about your role that surprises people?

Just how many places I work within the hospital!

4. What did the year 2020 teach you?

Gratitude. For my family, our health and to appreciate the beautiful backyard we live in.

5. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I am an outdoors girl. I try to explore new places when I get the opportunity and love camping, hiking and stand-up paddle boarding. I also enjoy going to the theatre and live music gigs and festivals.
