Robotic surgery

Robotic and minimally invasive surgery

Robotic surgery is minimally invasive surgery involving the use of a computer to control surgical instruments attached to robotic arms. Using the da Vinci Surgical System, surgeons use controls to move a camera and instruments inside a patient’s body to perform precise and delicate procedures.

Buderim Private Hospital introduced robotic surgery in 2017, to allow minimally invasive procedures to be conducted primarily in the field of urology, for robotic prostatectomy. Since then, we have expanded our robotic surgery to include general surgery and gynaecology. As part of the UnitingCare family of hospitals, Buderim Private Hospital is closely linked to The Wesley Hospital’s Centre of Excellence in Robotic Surgery.

Our modern facilities not only feature state-of-the-art equipment, but they also offer a comfortable and serene environment. Our leafy setting on the Sunshine Coast is ideal for treatment and recovery.
