• Common gynaecological conditions

  Our team of private gynaecologists have the knowledge and skill to diagnose and treat a wide range of gynaecological conditions, including:

  • Endometriosis: An often painful disorder in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (endometrium) grows in other parts of the body. Surgery aims to remove as much of the tissue as possible. 
  • Fibroids: Tumours made of smooth muscle cells and connective tissue that develop in the uterus. The surgical procedure to remove fibroids is called a myomectomy. 
  • Ovarian cysts: Sacs usually filled with liquid that are in an ovary or on the surface of the ovary. If a cyst doesn’t go away on its own, grows, causes pain or is cancerous, surgery may be required to remove it. 

  
  
  

• Types of gynaecological surgery

  Many of our surgeries are performed as laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeries. These minimally invasive procedures can be used to diagnose and treat a range of concerns, including:

  • Investigating abdominal pain.
  • Removing endometriosis.
  • Removing ovarian cysts.
  • Removing fibroids embolisations.

  Our gynaecologists also perform the following surgical procedures:

  • Hysterectomy: The surgical removal of the uterus.
  • Cystoscopy: A hollow tube equipped with a lens is inserted into the urethra to view the bladder.
  • Myomectomy: The surgical removal of fibroids that can cause symptoms such as heavy periods and infertility. 
  • Pelvic floor surgery: Anterior and posterior repair of the vaginal wall and pelvic floor.
