Your room

Your comfort and privacy throughout your labour, birth and postnatal recovery are our top priorities, which is why our rooms are designed to offer a safe, private and comfortable space for you and your birthing partner throughout your stay.

Our gifts to you

Having a baby is one of life’s memorable moments, and we want to make sure our new parents are nurtured through the process. That’s why we have created some very special gifts just for you.

Other in-room comfort features include:

  • Boutique toiletries: In your room you will find boutique toiletries by METIS, an Australian company whose essential-oil-infused products provide protection and hydration to help care for body and hair.
  • Gourmet platters: New mums will also enjoy our gourmet platters, filled with all the goodies that are off the menu while you are pregnant – from soft cheeses to charcuterie. Bon appetit!
  • Baby milestone cards: You will also receive a pack of baby milestone cards to help celebrate key moments in your baby’s first year of life and share photos of your baby’s growth and development with family and friends. It includes a very special milestone card inspired by the custodians of the land on which the hospital stands today, the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi peoples.

In-room amenities

All of our rooms feature double beds so that you and your partner can stay overnight together. This is a feature that many other hospitals are not able to offer.

Other in-room comfort features include:

  • private ensuite
  • sound system
  • flat screen TV
  • refrigerator
  • air conditioning
  • baby bath
  • full carpeting and modern finishes.

There’s also a DVD player available in the lounge room that can be viewed through a dedicated channel on the TV in your room. You can select from our range of educational DVDs that includes instructional videos on everything from breastfeeding and expressing milk to settling your new baby.

Our midwives are also on hand to help out with any questions or concerns you may have during your postnatal recovery.

Take some time to explore our maternity space. Click and drag to rotate your view left and right or up and down and click the arrows to move around the ward, into our parents break room and through to one of our private rooms with ensuite and double bed.

Rooming in

Buderim Private Hospital encourages rooming in, which means your new bub will stay in the room with you. We also encourage birthing partners to stay overnight so that both of you can make your stay all about bonding with your new baby.

In addition to getting to know your baby, the benefits of rooming in include:

  • Babies feel secure and less stressed, which means less crying.
  • Breastfeeding is established more successfully and for longer periods of time.
  • Staff are able to assist with new parenting skills so you and your partner are feeling confident when it comes time to return home.
  • Your baby’s immunity is increased and risk of infection is minimised.
  • Your baby will sleep better because they feel loved, secure, comfortable and fed.

Meals

All of your meals will be catered during your stay. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Morning tea and afternoon tea are also served at 10am and 2.45pm in the lounge room.

You will receive a menu at breakfast that includes dinner options for the same day as well as lunch and breakfast options for the following day. We offer a good selection of meals to cater for many dietary requirements.

You can also add breakfast and dinner to your account for your partner at a reasonable rate. If you would like to add your partner’s meals to your account, let the catering staff know. Lunches for your partner can be purchased from the canteen near reception.
