The Cooinda Mental Health inpatient unit is a state-of-the-art 33-bed acute unit for those aged 18 and over. All rooms are private, have ensuites, TV and hair dryers. Patients have use of the dining room, laundry, lounge areas, visitors' lounge, outdoor areas, music room, art and craft room, therapy rooms and gymnasium.
The Group Therapy program is available throughout the duration of an admission and consists of: Behavioural therapy, mindfulness, assertiveness, psycho education, relaxation skills, art and craft, socialisation skills, one-to-one counselling and physical exercise sessions.
Following initial assessment, an admission may occur through a credentialed private Psychiatrist and Cooinda Mental Health Service will provide further support through a team of specialist mental health clinicians.
