What costs are involved?
If you are receiving TMS as part of an extended hospital admission, then this will be included in your hospital fees which are usually paid for by your insurance, DVA or WorkCover.
As a self-funded day patient, the cost is $160 per treatment and will need to prepare for up to 30 treatments ($4,800) and you will also have additional doctors’ fees. If you have private health insurance or are a veteran, please contact our team on 1300 780 413 to check whether you are covered for this treatment.
Do I need a referral?
Yes. You will require a referral from a psychiatrist or GP for either inpatient or outpatient TMS. If you are a new patient to the Cooinda Mental Health Service, then you will need to have an initial consult with a psychiatrist for assessment, diagnosis and to determine if TMS is a suitable treatment for your needs.
